Olodum
Bloco Olodum was born in 1979, in Pelourinho. He became one of the greatest representatives of Bahian and Afro-Brazilian culture throughout the world. It gained worldwide expression when it was part of a clip by the singer Michael Jackson. However, in Brazil, it was already a tradition at Carnival.
In addition to the drumming of different types of drums, the block creates original choreographies and in costumes a lot of color and body painting already characteristic of the group.
Afro Block Ara Ketu
Block was founded in 1980 in Periperi. Their colors are: blue and white. Its most significant composer is the musician Carlinhos Brown. In the block, the strength is the combination of musical rhythms that have been mixing and forming new rhythms. On drums, the surdo-de-marcação generates the touch, followed by the surdo-de-repique, rattles, tambourines, tambourines and boxes.
